Prologue:
In feudal japan where the regions were plagued with many dark creatures, humans fled in fear from this dark menace. When the danger became too much they sought out the rumor of a family that held the power to slay these monsters. But with a price. This family is known as Saiyuki, people who have the power of telepathy, telekinesis, healing, fortune telling, divination and all else that has to do with becoming one with the earth's being.
The head of the family was known as Akihiko Saiyuki, he was the most powerful of the clan and he had a beautiful mistress. Her name was Sayu Saiyuki, she was from a distant part of the family with the power to hear the earth speak through its elements. She loved Akihiko with all her heart and when deciding to birth him a child it was a grand day for the clan when their head of the family would get an heir. But this was not so...
"Sayu! Sayu wake up... please!" Akihiko a man of twenty six stood at the side of his wife who was barely in her labor she had fainted for a short time then when the contraction started she gave birth to his child whom was taken by the midwife for cleaning. So when Sayu fainted for the second time Akihiko panicked,
"Why won't she wake?" The Doctors checked his wife and found that she had continued to bleed after giving birth, they checked her vital signs and found that she had died shortly after when she had fainted.
"I'm sorry... Akihiko-Sama, but there's nothing we can do..." they looked crestfallen and Akihiko stared at his wife who was dead and he had never even known it.
Down the halls of the birthing room stood the other members of the family, they were waiting patiently for the good news of an heir.
"Heh... he's going to be a strong one just like his father." Haruhiko Saiyuki, brother to Akihiko stood with a proud grin. Across the hall stood another man who was Akihiko's distant cousin,
"Hmph, might not be so impressive seeing as the wife wasn't that strong in her abilities. So she could talk to earth big deal," Ryou Saiyuki was the scowler in the family he thought everything was inferior to himself except his son who sat down beside him. Young Ryuu was six and very quiet during this.
"Come on Ryou-san, don't be so negative if Akihiko heard you you know you'd be in a lot of trouble." A woman stood up smirking she was another distant cousin, Chidori, standing behind her was her son Zane who was eleven and very quiet. After some time a doctor came out to all of them, Haruhiko spoke up.
"So Doctor what's the news? What's going on?"
"I'm afraid to announce that Lady Sayu has passed in the hour of her labor, she had suffered from loss of blood." Everyone stared wide eyed in shock at the news.
"The child what happened to the child?" Chidori cried and the Doctor smiled weakly,
"The child is fine, very healthy but I"m afraid there are some complications. The Lord is devastated but upon looking at his child there are few things wrong." Everyone looked at one another anxious, they didn't understand what was wrong or what was going on? Suddenly the Lord came out, he was looking down to the floor holding a whimpering child in his arms wrapped in a blue blanket. Everyone stood quietly as their Lord looked up at them all,
"Everyone this was to be a day of joy and happiness, but I'm afraid this day is a big mistake. Unfortunate."
"My Lord what about the child? What's wrong with him?" The baby cooed innocently but could feel the anxiety in the air,
"Come now Akihiko-Sama don't keep us all waiting. Tell us or show us either way." Akihiko looked grave as he unwrapped his child to show to everyone what had killed his beloved wife...
"That's impossible..."
"What is it?"
"How can this be? Is it an omen?" Everyone was in shock, panicking as the Lord looked at the child with sorrow.
"I don't know what this means my family, but all I know is that this child was Sayu's the last thing I will ever have of her. So I've decided to keep this child either way." They protested against such a thing but through it all Haruhiko spoke up,
"So brother what are you going to call him?" The baby cooed giggling as it tried to reach for its father,
"I shall name him... Kazuhiko..."

Oh yeah forgot to tell you your part, okay here it is.
Its been twenty years since then, your mother is of course a distant cousin as well she moved away with you ten years ago you were say six years old. Now when you've moved back to the Saiyuki clan you are accepted with welcomed arms but soon your character learns and remembers the outcast child. Be the understanding type, oh and whatever power that has to do with the earth, instinct, feeling or emotion something natural will do. Anymore question just send me a message.

 Midori Yakahashi looked outside the window of the car her breath covering the glass with fog, 'Rain here too I lived in Washington for many years and I have to deal with it here as well...' Midori thought with a small sigh and smiled touching the glass. "We'll be at the main house in a few minutes" Hiro said fixing his glasses focusing on the road as he drove. "I'm so nervous around your family " Elizabeth said in a small voice fixing her golden Blondie hair. Her younger brother Suno cooing slightly as he slept. While arriving at the main house old memories appeared in Midori's head. She remembered playing here with childhood friends Ryu and Zane, but also remembered another child...but he was an outsider... "Midori!" Hiro snapped Midori out of deep thought. "Yeah Father?" She asked curiously "Watch over your brother while we talk to my parents..." he said in a stern voice and as he walked in the rain slowly stopped. Midori decided to get out of the car holding her baby brother Suno a boy suddenly walked in front of her. "Are you a mother now Midori-San?" Ryu teased her as she jumped holding Suno close. "Don't be silly you know my father would kill me " Midori said with a heavy sigh as she frowned remembering all the things Ryu made her do such as play with hang out with while she remembered Zane was a bit nicer and calmer too. With a sigh Midori shook her head to deal with Ryu now would be a challenge now that they were older, though now she could actually throw a punch. "What happened to that one boy..." she mumbled Home sweet home... |

Ryu smirked as he looked at the little boy in her arms, he had heard her mutter something about another boy, he was confused and frowned.
"Welcome back, Midori-chan." Zane walked up behind Ryu he was taller more formal fitting, he spoke low. They were both in their twenties now, they had missed their childhood friend for the past ten years. It was kind of awkward though seeing as she had been in the States this whole time, she might be a little bit different.
"Well let's get inside and show you to your new room," Zane turned leading as Ryu poked at the small boy in Midori's arms. Her family was taken inside the mansion, people were greeting her parents welcoming them back. Asking them about their trip, Ryu wanted to hold the little boy and started teasing him telling him he'd love it here with the family.
"How are you feeling Midori? Tell me about your trip?" Zane spoke from behind her.

Midori was startled to hear another voice behind her, she turned and looked at Zane and went wide eyed.
"Oh Zane -kun is that you" Midori said and then smiled as she rocked Suno in her arms. She was amused when Ryu poked the baby and that he had such interest in her younger brother.
"his name is Suno " Midori said kindly and then followed them inside. While entering the house she took off her shoes and was happy to be in the warm home.
"Nice and cozy in here" she said with a bright smile and said hello to everyone in the house hold , she found it rather tiresome but it was something which was required.
'wonder why we moved back...' Midori wondered to herself
"I'm feeling hungry and happy to be back in Japan , America was pretty interesting I learned a lot there , the trip was full of turbulence and boring movies" Midori said with a weak smile

Zane and Ryu kept Midori company until they showed her her room, then they left her alone to rest. Ryu teased the baby before leaving and waving back at her as they walked off,
"Hey let's get together after dinner I want to talk with you some more." After a while the house became quiet as it was the resting hour of the day, a family servant had come to Midori's room to hand her a schedule of activities she could do during the day if she felt bored or wanted to know what she could do around the house.
-Around seven was breakfast, after eight there was meditation in the gardens. Kinda of a class for those in sync with plants.
-Around ten is the river fishing where those with water attributes practice their powers by catching lunch.
-Lunch at twelve, followed by studies in the library. Members twenty five and younger must study on their abilities for at least two hours.
-Around two is the trip to the meadow where those of the wind and air attributes practice. Then are three the plantation of the crops and gardens. Everyone who's powers deal in the area helps.
-Around five is dinner. Afterward a class will be held for those of the fire attribute will be called to the courtyard to show off their meditation skills, summoning fire.
-After seven is free time, curfew at nine. None are to be outside the mansion by then.
That was the list made by Akihiko Saiyuki, Head of the Saiyuki clan. The servant then left young Midori, it was around three now but things were being held off today for the arrival of family members as they always are or when events and festivities occur does the schedule not count.

Midori waved to her friends and looked at her room it was rather small but she had it to herself so she held no room to complain. Not like she wanted to anyhow.
'meet after dinner okay no problem seeing as I don't really have to unpack anything' Midori thought to herself Placing Suno on the bed.
"Home sweet home, Suno hopefully you will enjoy it here" Midori said patting the child's head.
When a young maid came in handing her the schedule she read it carefully.
"I don't have any of those powers...so all I have to do it well study around noon...lame but better than nothing" Midori mumbled softly to herself and pinned the schedule up to the wall, looking at the clock she guessed that it was time for dinner. She scooped Suno up in her arms and headed to the dinner table. All the family members were there it was big grand and full of lots of conversations.
"How you liking it ?" Hiro asked Midori curiously.
"Its good just like old times, except everyone is ten years older is all" Midori said with a smile and began to eat her dinner. After dinner she gave Suno back to her mother and headed back to her room and after she settled in her room she went out of the room looking for Ryu since he said he wanted to talk to her.
'Sure hope he doesn't boss me around, at least I can throw a decent punch now....'

Ryu and Zane were heading towards the courtyard when they saw Midori waiting for them the sky was slightly dark now, Ryu grinned.
"Hey Midori you made it, so how is it so far? Have you seen the schedule?" Zane sat down on a stone bench under a Sakura tree as Ryu asked about her abilities,
"So you're a healer right? But what do you use to heal? Water, Earth? I know we're all psychic but I mean unless you heal using your own life force that's kind of tricky. You'll have to go to meditation for that, and train in the courtyard for your stamina right?"
"Ryu stop pestering her, she doesn't have to get right to it she can rest a few days before getting used to our way of living." Ryu scoffed but shrugged,
"I know hey Midori want to know my abilities they've changed since last time they're the most popular around here."
"Not popular than mine." Zane muttered making Ryu clench his fists in annoyance.

Midori blinked meditation classes she had done that her whole life but she figured why stop.
"I use my own life force, I can tap into the elements as well but I have been meditating for ten years now...so I'll meditate why stop now" Midori smiled brightly sitting down under the Sakura tree and gazed up at it she rememberd how she used to climb the tree.
"Your ability has changed??" Midori said with slight intrest.Midori laughed at the two of them. Both were still the same as before.
"you guys are the same..." she laughed "Well I'm sure your powers are a lot better than mine are" She said and did a small hop on a stone

Ryu grinned at that blushing slightly while rubbing the back of his head,
"Aaww thanks... but I didn't mean to say... well that is..." he felt back knowing his powers were better made him proud but didn't want to brag to Midori.
"Listen to you Ryu, studdering like a nearthrdal. Of course healing is just as powerful just don't strain yourself too much alright?' He looked at Midori with a kind expression his eyes gentle, as she was stepping on the stones Zane's eyes dimmed a light bluish gray. A breeze out of no where came and blew the blossums around her, Zane's ability was that of the wind. The reason why he's the family's most strongest member would be revealed later.
"Show off..." Ryu taunted.

From far off in the courtyard through the trees of willows and bamboo, across the small pond stood a figure in the shadows. He was tall his eyes seemed to glow in the dark as he stared at the three off in the distance. He knew two of them well, Ryu and Zane Saiyuki. The most popular in the family but the third was a girl, one he hadn't seen in a long time. The arrival of Midori placed interest in Kazuhiko's eyes, ten long years its been. He remembered how he had wanted to join the three in their games and it was her that allowed him to, Zane went along with whatever she had asked but Ryu was more mean towards him. He still is. Watching them he saw how the blossoms fell around her, he stared at one of the flowers just flying in front of her. His eyes sparked green and the blossom turned into a blue orchid, using the breeze he made it float down into her hands.
"Midori... " he spoke low.

Midori glanced at Ryu when he spoke how he seemed more embarrassed and shy he did not seem that threatening to her anymore like he used to. Midori smiled at both of them.
"Don't worry I won't over work myself it's not like anyone is injured.."she said and gazed up at the tree when she heard a gentle breeze she looked at the flower petals in awe.
"Wow so pretty " Midori said raising her hands up and let the breeze surround her accepting the earth's natural gifts and powers.
"Come on Ryu I know you wanna show off to so do it " Midori teased.
At that moment when she said that she saw one of the sakura blossoms turn blue, and the flower rested in her hand. A strange feeling ran through her as she heard her name being softly spoken she was not sure how she heard it. But she sensed where the energy had come from. She raised her head and looked around wondering who it was her heart raced frantic.
"Kazuhiko?" she mumbled in a whisper.

The figure looked up in surprise as she spoke his name, she had remembered him? How shocking. Still he turned away disappearing. Ryu and Zane saw the flower they knew only one could transform an object into something else, looking around Ryu clenched his fists as Zane looked about with darken eyes.
"See him anywhere?" Ryu asked,
"No, I don't sense him either he probably left." Turning they looked at the flower in Midori's hands, Ryu scoffed snatching it from her.
"Ignore this." In his hands sprouted a red flame that burned the orchid to ash.

Midori blinked seeing the looks on there face she wondered if something was wrong.
"How can you guys be so..." Midori began when Ryu snatched the flower from her and burned it she whimpered weakly wanting to cry in pain. A gift from Kazuhiko and it was burned.
"That was really unnecessary that was not yours to burn Ryu" Midori said angrily and jumped down from the rock, she wanted to punch him but knew she couldn't.
"It's late you guys I'm really tired from the trip I'll see you two tomarrow...night " Midori said and bowed to both of them and dismissed herself, walking to her room sadness swallowed her. She wondered if Kazuhiko was near by she wanted to see him again, her friendship with him had been fun she could still remember those days clearly but also remembered alot of family members treated him as an outcast, she slightly understood how it felt but just barely.
"Where are you Kazuhiko...I'll find you eventually" She mumbled as she reached the door to her room and went inside.

Zane watched as Midori walked off, Ryu shrugged scoffing. He didn't care what she thought, he only cared about what he thought and the thought of the outcast talking to Midori was outrageous.
"I'm going to go straighten that punk out..." he walked off about to search for Kazuhiko until Zane grabbed his arm.
"Wait, let's leave it off for now. No need to be rash maybe he just wanted to say Hi, he probably won't ever talk to her again." Ryu scowled but decided to listen as they both turned in for the night.
The next morning everyone woke to get breakfast, in the dining hall was huge everyone got something to eat and had a place to sit. Few sat outside to enjoy nature, after that those who had the meditation class sat out in the gardens. Honing their skills to the wishes of the plants, giving them what they needed. The day went about as it normally would have, Ryu and Zane were both in the study hall since they were below the age of twenty five.
"Damn this is boring... I've read this so many times."
"Well then maybe you shouldn't read so fast... why don't you be like me and read up on others abilities that why when you duel them in the Adult testing you'll know what you're up against." Zane was finished reading all the books of the wind attribute, now he was earth and slowly getting to water.
"Man I can't wait for the Summoning test... wonder what my animal will be?"
"Who knows..."

Morning came to fast for Midori as her alarm went off loud and frantic. She held her ears and then slammed her hand on the top of the alarm stooping it hitting snooze as she laid back onto her bed looking up at the ceiling.
'Being back in Japan feels a little strange...but also relaxing hopefully I will find him' Midori thought as her snooze went off she turned off her alarm and stood up and headed to the showers and cleaned herself up. She wore a blue jean skirt and pulled on a white tank top that formed her body and a loose black jacket to go over it. She let her black hair go down and then went out and went to breakfast, she sat with her parents and younger brother.
"So Midori are you going to go meditate..?" Hiro asked curiously and she nodded with a small sigh and finished her dinner and stood up.
"Well I'm going now later mother , Father" she said and went to her meditation class and focused on what was necessary she had to change though wearing running sweats and the same tank top having her hair up. She focused on her meditation her eyes closed taking a deep breaths.
After meditation class she found books on her powers and all the other elements as well. She saw Ryu and Zane talking about powers and summoning creatures.
"When is the summoning test?" She asked curiously and sat down in a seat at there table
